With a personal touch, Masonic Village Hospice helps patients complete their lives joyfully, as well as provide support for loved ones. Hospice focuses on the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and promotes comfort and self-determination, enabling patients to participate in decisions about their care. Masonic Village Hospice offers 24-hour on-call assistance, so you and your loved ones can be at peace knowing support is only a phone call away.
We take the time to understand and value the wishes of each patient and family, as we want others to know hospice isn’t about giving up. It’s about celebrating life and cherishing the time left. Staff work to create lasting memories for patients and their families, which have ranged from arranging a couple’s anniversary date night to flying an airplane. We are also a proud participant in the We Honor Veterans program and recognize veterans may have unique end-of-life needs. We honor patients who are veterans with handmade blankets, special services and more. It is our privilege to provide care to these heroes.
Many times, patients’ families tell us they wish they had known about hospice sooner, as they can see the positive impact in their loved ones’ lives. For many families, hospice gives them time to reflect, share memories and provide emotional support to each other without worrying about providing care.
Overcoming grief is not about forgetting, but remembering. It is not about moving on, but finding a new way to live. Masonic Village Hospice offers bereavement support in the form of individual and group sessions, newsletters, personal phone calls and support packets with information about grieving and its stages. Loved ones receive support for as long as needed and are given the contact information for a bereavement coordinator who is there to help families heal after loss and understands grieving isn’t the same for everyone. For information on support meetings and group sessions, please call 717-367-1121, ext. 33576.
