How Elizabethtown Handles Snow

- All 28 Landscape and Greenhouse staff will be working throughout the weekend, beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, if necessary. First shift (three to four people) will arrive at 2 a.m. Saturday, followed by the rest of the staff at 4 a.m.
- Six snow plows, three salt spreaders, three utility tractors, three skid loaders, five tractor-mounted snow blowers and 20 walk-behind snow blowers will be in the arsenal of equipment we use remove the snow. Staff will work around the clock until the storm moves away.
- 316 driveways, 2,000+ parking spaces, 10 miles of walking paths and countless steps & sidewalks will be cleared over and over and over, again!
- Nearly 100 tons of road salt, ice melt and cinders are in the holding areas for use, as needed.
- Maintenance has five snow plows, two loaders, a skid loader and 12 staff to clear approximately 10 miles of roadways and the Masonic Health Care Center parking lot as well as assisting Landscape in all other parking lots.
One of the best benefits of being a Masonic Village resident is never needing to shovel again!
