The Restaurant at Eisenlohr, a favorite fine-dining stop for Masonic Village at Elizabethtown residents, has vamped up their dining experience in a creative way.

The restaurant has begun hosting artworks by artists including residents and local professionals.

“The new artworks really add variety and enhances our dining space,” Jody Graham, dining room supervisor, said. “Residents enjoy dining within a ‘mini museum’ with constantly changing pieces. It also means a lot to them that we’re supporting local artists.”

Each spotlighted piece is available for purchase.

Thomas Hermansader has been painting Central Pennsylvania’s most noted landmarks for more than four decades. His realistic style captures the essence of “hometown” and has honored both the old and the new of more than 100 iconic locations. He specializes in churches, schools, landscapes, historical buildings, bridges and more.

The Colombia-Wrightsville Bridge, officially the Veterans Memorial Bridge, spans the Susquehanna River and struck Thomas as a beautiful focal point for one of his prized paintings, of which a canvas copy now hangs in the restaurant.

“I’m honored to have my work displayed in such a beautiful building,” Thomas said. “Art is my passion, and it’s nice to share it with others. I hope the residents really enjoy my piece.”

The work matches perfectly with the restaurant’s décor and will allow many residents to enjoy a show with their dinner.

In the future, the Restaurant at Eisenlohr hopes to host pieces created by the children at the Masonic Children’s Home as well as additional works from local artists.
