Dorothy Gale, of the classic American book and movie The Wizard of Oz, is famous for saying, “There’s no place like home!” This quote explains the popularity of “aging in place.” Many seniors strive to stay independent as long as possible in their homes. However, to make this possible, some need mild to moderate assistance. At Masonic Village, home care services provide that helping hand.
Masonic Village Home Care employees provide both a friendly face around the house and a helpful presence, assisting with daily activities including transportation, household chores, errands, meal prep and more.
Jane Rhen has been a satisfied recipient of Masonic Village Home Care for almost seven years. Her home care aide, Karen, not only assists her with daily activities but has become a close friend.
“It’s a wonderful service,” she said. “She really does everything for me. I am continually impressed by the variety of tasks and responsibilities home care staff are able to cover. If you have any needs at all, they will take care of them.”
“You get to be a part of their lives. You love them, and they love you,” Cindy Pierce, home care aide, said.
Home care services are non-medical and are not covered by Medicare, but are paid privately. Masonic Village Home Care is a Pennsylvania Licensed Home Care Agency. Services are available for Masonic Village residents in Elizabethtown and Sewickley, home care services are also extended to those in the greater Elizabethtown community.
