The human brain is not capable of grasping the idea of a spiritual realm or of eternity. These are truly beyond our understanding. All we can do is use a simile, an analogy, a metaphor.
God creates us to be good, and if we live well, love God and help others, we can grow into a beautiful person. If we get lost or fail to follow God's teachings, we can be seeds that never grow.
The art of living is not so much our ability to pick one path and pursue it to the end. It has more to do with how well we can change paths and shift directions when the situation demands it.
Jesus said, "Peace be with you." But how and where do we find that peace? For many of us, peace will come only when we come to grips with our past.

In one way or another, many of us are obsessed with food, earthly food. Think what a difference it would make in our lives if we were equally obsessed with heavenly food, the food that Christ gives us.
Let's face it. Sacrifice is almost a foreign word to us. We demand that religion be convenient, not sacrificial. That brings me to the second truth I want to declare: If you follow Jesus, it will cost you.
Some people have a very strong sense of destiny. That's the first thing we need to see. There are people who believe that God has a plan for their lives and they seek to live out that plan.
