To give children, regardless of household income, the best educational opportunities, Masonic Villages has received $86,000 from local organizations through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program in 2016.

Contributors include: Clark Associates Inc., RLPS Architects and UHS of Pennsylvania Inc. – $15,000 each; McCutcheon Enterprises Inc., Orrstown Bank and Phillips Facilities Management Group – $10,000 each; Sloan’s Pharmacy Inc. – $8,000; Perkins – T.P. Trailers Inc. – $2,000; and Warfel Construction Company – $1,000.

The Pennsylvania legislature enacted the EITC Program in 2001 authorizing tax credits for qualified businesses that make contributions to eligible day care centers and schools. Masonic Villages has taken part in this program since 2012 by accepting donations from businesses interested

In 2015, local organizations contributed $103,500 to Masonic Villages toward pre-kindergarten and kindergarten scholarships.

Through scholarships, the funds benefit pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students attending centers managed by Hildebrandt Learning Centers, including the Masonic Village Child Care Centers in Elizabethtown and Sewickley, Dr. Curley Early Childhood Training Institute, PSECU Child Care Center and St. Joseph’s Creative Beginnings Center.
