Summer is always an exciting time for Volunteer Services! In addition to the dedicated adult volunteers who provide services to various areas of our campus, during the summer our Health Care Center is filled with teen volunteers who are excited and eager to spend time with residents and give back to the community. This year we welcomed back 33 teens from previous summers and we are happy to announce that 34 new teen volunteers have joined our group!
The new teen volunteers attended orientation on June 15th and participated in training and experiential learning activities to prepare them for their summer assignments. At the end of the orientation the new volunteers toured the Health Care Center and found out where they would be volunteering. Volunteers assist with Therapeutic Recreation programs, Music Therapy groups, exercise and aquatic classes, and serve as neighborhood and rehab couriers.
